How is pips been calculated?
Some time I get confused on how pips is been calculated. when I look at the 1H or daily chart I notice that the movement of the market is limited to some number of pips but when I look at the 1M or 5M chart I notice that market moves more in lower time frame than that of higher time frame. why is it like this? Dose it mean that the market moves more in lower time frame than that of the higher time frame or is there another way that it is been calculated?

There is no difference in pips movement between one time frame&the next.the only difference is the way the grids of the time frame are been calibrated.e.g on 1minute platform of gbpusd the first price may be 1.6550&the next price may be 1.6555 making a 5pips difference between the two prices, but on the 4hrs platform of gbpusd the first price may be 1.6550&the next price may be 1.6600 making a 50pips difference.the movement of the price is the same irrespective of the time frame you are looking@. |

Take EUR/USD at 1.2635. If the sell price were to increase to 1.2636 we have a one pip increase. Should the EUR/USD sell price move from 1.2635 up to 1.2735, we say EUR/USD increased 100 pips. |
