Asking what is best is very subjective, but a trend is defined as higher highs and higher lowers. My favorite tool for determining the trend is looking at this basic higher high and higher low concept and drawing trendlines. The MACD is one of the best tools to indicate a trend. The crossing of the MACD line above the signal line can denote the beginning of a trend. The crossover of the zero line indicates a strong trend. |

Use Moving Average. Determine the trend in longer timeframes. Draw trend lines to see whether it is down or uptrend market. |
