why does a pair like EUR/GBP have high returns in regards per pips?

You can see here: www.mataf.net/en/tools/04-02-pip-value, the pip value for several currency pairs. It lists EURGBP and AUDGBP with the highest pip value. |

The EURUSD is volumetricially one of the highest, but not the most volumetric. With that said, the EUR and USD have significant impact on volume due to supply and demand. Both currencies are used in a wide (physical) area of the world, and have emense supply. That supply allows large swings in demand based on economic conditions of each currency. Both currencies have large PIP swings in the Retail FX Spot market largly due to the economic competition between them. |
